♫ Student 1O1: Beginning the School Year

Starting a new school year

         I know what you're probably all thinking: no ew ugh homework people no pls summer come back. Cause I know what you mean haha. But just because we dislike school, doesn't mean we can avoid it. Let's start off this portion of the blog with a simple ways you can start off the year strong.

1. School Supplies

        - School supplies are hands down one of the most important necessity that you need. Here are some school supplies that I personally use and recommend:

 Five Star Notebooks:

       I personally love these notebooks. They have a nice protective cover and bigger pages to write in. They come in such pretty colors and different subjects such as three or five. They all include a double sided pocket folder inside the notebooks. They have them in composition and spiral, as well as different sizes.

Price: $2-$5 for single subjects

  Five Star Folders: 

        These folders keep me organized with all my single sheets of paper. They come in plastic, cardboard paper like, I have those, and other kinds with extra stuff to keep your work organized. They come in varieties of colors. 

Price: $1.50-$3.00

     Planner:

         This is a must have for those of you who forget easily! You can easily purchase one anywhere where there's office supplies, journals, etc. I got mine on eBay! P.S, double check to make sure you have the right year!

Price: $6-$30

Calculator:

         Having the appropriate calculator really helps you with math. I recommend TI 83 or up, because that's whats used in high school. I was debating whether I should get one but I did (the exact one in the picture actually ^^) and I don't regret it. It also makes you look cool ;) haha. They are a bit pricey whatsoever. They come in different colors!

Price: $80-$150

And of course, pencil pouches, pencils, colored pencils. Classes usually announce what materials you'll need on the first day, or along the way!

2. Classes

          - Make sure you're actually willing to put effort in your classes. Depending on what you take, they can be semester long or year long. Some schools may let you change classes within the first two weeks or so, don't hesitate to talk you your counselor about it!

3. DO YOUR WORK!

          - I cannot stress this enough. Getting proper work done and studying is super important to becoming a progressive student. Here are some tips for studying and homework:

                 1. Create a plan: What I mean by this is, organize your time! Don't go over to a friend's house to hangout when you clearly know you have a lot of homework to do. Give yourself a realistic schedule to keep you motivated. For example:

                      - Come home by 4:00 P.M

                      - Chill for until 4:30 P.M

                      - Start homework at 4:30 P.M

                      - Work approx until: 6:30 P.M

                      - Shower then dinner until 8:00 P.M

                      - Continue homework until 10:00 P.M

                      - Study for half an hour to an hour, then sleep.

Yes, it is a full schedule but it will keep you busy. Adjust the times depending on the amount of homework you have or tests for the next day to give yourself more time to study. There is no right schedule, fit it to the best of you. Other Tips: Snack while doing homework/studying, give yourself five to ten minute breaks between each hour, etc.

                 2. Find a place to work: Find a place where you can work at! I know not everyone loves quiet places, so find the best place you feel like you can be most productive in. If you honestly work better with music, play music! Don't go to distracting places.

                 3. Reward yourself! This can actually be one of the best motivations. You'll get the reward of getting a good grade and why not 'spoil' yourself? Treat yourself to your favorite restaurant, watch a movie you've always wanted, or even buying yourself your favorite Starbucks drink can be all rewarding. Don't make rewards like getting a new car as a one time goal, this could be a long time goal. Ex: Getting 4.0 throughout high school and having a good job. One time goals should be small things you also enjoy.

That's really it for now! Over the year, I will help you go more in depth with study habits, getting help with work, etc. I hope this helped a bit :)

                 My reaction towards what happened in the VMA's last night

Not sure if this was the reaction to Miley Cyrus or Lady Gaga, but I lobe this so much :)

Oh goodness, I love that family. Anyways, Lady Gaga opened up with the song 'Applause' with I believe four outfit changes through the song. 

One Direction comes up and announces the winner for Best Pop Video. As they were talking the camera pans to Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift mouths something that's quite... well...

  

Oh Taylor, so sassy. Which one do you think she said? I think it's the first haha. So the winner goes to SELENA GOMEZ! And Taylor expresses genuine happiness towards her. Selena goes up to get her award, hugging each of the One D boys.

Various artists wins award and this is when Miley get all ratchet.

Coming out of a giant teddy bear and wearing on with of course the ears covering her boobehs, she looked like a five year old gone wrong.

Literally how her intro was.

I was already like wtf here and then she twerks like crazy and smacks a booty and looked like she was doing things to herself. Later she rips her teddy bear outfit revealing a nude bikini looking outfit and starts Singing blurred lines. Robin Thicke appears and she literally does this.

Miley, wtf are you doing to a 36 year old married father. I wonder how his wife feels about this good lord. More people get awards, Justin Timberlake performs for a longish time with special guests at one point!

                        

It's an N'Sync reunion! Honestly, I never really heard their music but the crowd was going wild! Probz would've made Kristen Stewart smile too haha. Well since they're an old group, they're still working the stage like it's theirs! It was a cute reunion, singing the song 'Bye Bye Bye'.                   

More people win and performs, One Direction with Best Song of the Summer (my boys :"), Bruno Mars wins Best Male Video, and Austin Mahone I can honestly say is turning into like a Justin Bieber... sigh sigh. I lost respect for Bieber already but he's still attractive! Austin wins Artist to watch and he thanks God and his mom. Lastly, Katy Perry performs her new hit 'Roar' around the Brooklyn Bridge area.

   

            

Last Reactions: Sooo, Bruno looks really short next to Taylor and Miley needs to stop being ratchet and put her tongue back in her mouth where it belongs... Yeah the awards show was kinda a mess after Miley came in. I feel like all celebrities hate each other now. here are so amusing reactions or pictures I found:

♫ Hey Key Clubbers, How Do You Feel?

We feel good oh we feel so good!

                     Hey everyone! Let me clear this up though, Key Club DOES NOT MAKE KEYS LOL. Sooo, I came back from a recent Key Club event and I'm having post-Key Club event sadness... Yesterday was one of the greatest day of my life. Honestly, I haven't had so much laughter for a loooonnnnnnnnnnng time. We are the most crazy, caring, loving people you will ever meet. No joke.

About Key Club:

            Key Club is an international student led organization that includes 33 districts USA. There are Key Clubs all over the world, or motto "Caring- Our way of Life" is what we stand for. Kwanis International helps us fund, so big shout out to the lovely Kwanians <3. We do service projects (this year we are focusing on The ELIMINATE Project, where we help try to eliminate MNT, Maternal Neonatal Tetanus, from the world. So far we helped eliminate it in 31 countries, 28 left to go. Our goal is to eliminate all by 2015) with a $1.80, you can save a baby. We volunteer through our community, and make a lifetime experience. People think it's a regular ol' club, but we are much much much more than that.

Key Club: My Story

              I think Key Club changed my life. Towards my perspectives, and personally. I love this club so much, and I love my division. This year, is my first year in Key Club, and I am a proud Key Clubber. In the beginning of the year, I was scared to meet people, or talk to people in general. After joining this club and going to events, my perspective changed and I was a lot more social. I'm not afraid to say hi to people anymore, cause honestly, we're all the same. We come from unknown backgrounds, and we share Key Club. I think it's wonderful how people can come together and just instantly become great friends or take pictures or photobomb each other. I highly encourage you to join this club, or start one if you don't have one at your school. I promise you, you will not regret it.

♫ Wassup!- New (Twerking) Girl Group (My Reaction)

Wassup!?

Post- video thoughts:                                      

                             SO, I'm just scrollin' down mah newsfeed on Facebook o' so casually and I see this post by DramaFever. It was labeled as 'Watch the New Girl Group WASSUP: Twerking Hard or Hardly Twerking?' (tilte by Dramafever) and I was like wut. Korean people? If you're new to the KPOP era, let me tell you one thing: kpop stars have not really twerked in videos at ALLLLLL. Well the ones I've watched. And as some of you may know, in Korea, showing a lot of skin or using body parts for sex appeal is somewhat looked down upon. I mean, do you ever see a passionate kiss (French Kiss) hardcore in Korean Music Videos? I haven'ts. So this is honestly a surprise to me. I clicked it...

The Reaction:

                     Um.... wtf did I just watch. I personally had this really mug shot wtf face on while watching this. I'm gonna come straight out and say this... they're not that good a twerking. I personally don't think they got the butt for it, not to so perv or anything lol. But yeah. The music was somewhat catchy and the clothes were colorful but I didn't enjoy much about it... of course a kpop group isn't complete unless theres multi-color hair lol (Their hair is fab btw, love the ombres). There is also a practice twerk sesh which I will link done below.

About the group:

                    There's not much about them as of now. I did do some research and pretty much it's from two companies that collaborated (Sony Music Korea and Mafia Records) to create a seven member girl group named WASSUP. They've trained for three years and is debuting on August 7th on MBC's Show! Music Champion. This is a statement from Sony Music Korea:

"Wassup will differentiate themselves from other girl groups with their eye-catching concept. They will aim to spread hip hop music through their various activities."

 Yup, they're different and eye catching, not so sure in a great way.

Last thoughts:
                    I am actually interested to see other reviews and their full music video. I will do a separate post about that. I'm not sure why I'm so fine with American Music Videos with twerk and stuff like that but not Korean. Maybe it's cause Korean is so drama and graphic base and legit dancing, that they don't need to focus much on making things dirty. But I really hope that after this, there will be no more twerk because Kpop is fine as it is. Thank you.

♫ Got My Ears Pierced! (Review and My Experience)

Hey everyone! - - - - -

         So today, I FINALLY GOT MY EARS PIERCED!!! I'm so happy and I don't regret a thing. I love my new ears! Getting my ears pierced was something I've wanted for a very long time, but I was contemplating on it because my mom said her ears were really sore, painful, etc. Butttttt, yolo right? Jk, but I did decide to get them pierce because of these following reasons:

         1. I wanted them for such a long time!

         2. My friend got them pierced recently and she said it wasn't so bad so why not?

         3. I love cute earrings *o*

         4. I wanted something new for the new school year

         5. Jumping on the bandwagon that left a longgggggg time ago LOL.

Those are just some of my reasonings, but I seriously love my newly pierced ears. I got my ears pierced at Claire's and it was a very good experience. Remember: The piercing is only free WITH A PURCHASE OF A STARTER KIT which I will describe later. So this is basically what happened:

         1. I asked one of the store associates to get mah ears periced

         2. I sat down on da chair

         3. Picked out my earrings (more details if the next paragraph)

         4. They marked where they were gonna shoot through (not scary as it sounds lol)

         5. *pitch* *pitch* 

         6. Yeah that''s basically it lol.

Now of course there were more stuff to do than that butt, that's the basics. So you do need a parent or guardian or someone 18 and older to be there with you to sign forms. After the forms are signed, you pink out your EARRINGS!

These are what you can pick from :)

Pick from those! So the 'Starter Kit' (basically purchase of earrings and a bottle of solution comes with it). The price depends on which earrings you get, I think it ranges from $19 to $60 max. My earrings were the 3 mm CZ (under Stainless Steel) and it costed $26.50. Ask the associate about the pricing to get the price that best fits for you :)

Next, you go to there ear piercing chair (awkward cause mine was like right behind a glass window aka people can see me but whatevah). And they mark the dots on your ears. You can adjust them unless you think they match.

Then they pull out a mini gun looking thing with a needle attached inside and yeah they just shoot the needle through your ear and that's pretty much it!

The feeling of it

Omg I don't mean for the title to sound wrong for all you dirty minds. lol. It feels like a bad pitch really, it depends on you tolerance. It's not as bad as I thought though, I'll tell you that. Then you pay and get a 16 ounce solution cleaning bottle and a 50% off your next purchase!

So basically, this is what they give me (picture on right) and some instructions on how to care for your ears. I'll sum it up for ya:

       - Clean your ears with this solution 2-3 times a day, I use a cotton swab, I'm not entirely sure what you can use so you should ask about it,

       - Leave the earrings they put in you for 6 weeks, then you can switch up your earrings but MAKE SURE TO HAVE ONE ON AT ALL TIMES FOR SIX MONTHS!

       - Avoid activities that can put any type of chemical or something in your ear such as hairspray, shampoo, etc.

       - If you need to watch your hair, I suggest bending over so you can use shampoo and conditioner. But remember to do it at your own risk.

That's about it for the ear piercing for now! I'm sure I won't be getting any other piercings. Please make sure the way you pierce your ears are safe! I'm not sure if sleeping on it will irritate anything though, I'll update this. UPDATE 8/5/2013: I think I was mostly paranoid throughout the night so I didn't get the best night''s sleep but it wasnt painful or anything. I was just scared the back might poke me lol. If you're a side sleeper, be careful it might be noticeable. Thanks for reading if you did! Post- video thoughts:

                              Hey blackjacks! :) Sooo, today 2NE1 released their new MV: Do You Love Me. It's funny cause just last night, I saw a teaser but I didn't it was a teaser for that song. I can't find the link to it tho D: oh wells. I saw the video on.... idk where I saw it on. omg. there goes my attention span. Anyways, I was like wowww! It hasn't even been too long since they released 'Falling in Love' and that was a cute song. It captures what I would love to do for the summer #partyanimal jk.

The Video:

                           Like I said earlier. it shows a fun summer type of night with friends. The video starts out with 'Do You Love Me' written in the sand with '2NE1' also written in sand, in a heart under it. The camera then shows them playing with sparklers on the beach. Then another scene with them in the car comes on. Then CL starts singing with Minzy and Dara in the background of which looked like they were in a hotel. Minzy is dancing and Dara is in her curlers. lol. Then it goes to Dara and Thunder (Cheondung) from MBLAQ. Then they switch to a pool scene and like a club-looking dance floor. With those five scenes repeating (except the beach, that was only the beginning) and them doing different dances, etc. One of the most constant prop used in there was CL's mouth (with red looking lipstick) on an iPhone or and iPod looking device and it mouths/sings her saying 'Do you love me, do you love me like the way I love you bae...?" I assume its bae or babe or even back idk man lol. She used this on various people over there mouths. It end with the video Minzy like hip thrusting the bed and CL going over her. that sounds so weird but I promise you it's not as weird as it sounds lol. 

    

My Reaction:

                             I love the theme of this video, that is if it was themed. It felt like a summer night out with your friends, and it had a fun vibe to it. There wasn't much dancing to it, since I think they tried to film it into a style of a vlog. I love how they included Thunder (Dara's younger brother) into the video! It's such cute sibling love. Overall, the music is very catchy with 'Do You Love Me' spelled out over and over again. I loved there hair omg *o* so pretty!

Last Thoughts:

                   I love this ! 'Falling in Love' was a bit of a change from their style, but it was still very catchy. As for 'Do You Love Me', it's back to their 'style' and I think this is really good! Here's the dance practice:

How are you today?

              Remember to ask yourself that question! This page is dedicated to giving advice to become more happier, or improving your mood. Of course, there will be other advice just to see if it could make your life a little easier :). I can't guarantee your mood will improve, but hopefully it'll help in somewhat ways.          Or should I say annyeonghaseyo? LOL. Anyways. Just to let you know I am NOT Korean! I am Asian, but not Korean. I would like to forget the negatives and focus on the positives, so my life isn't perfect or anything.
